Brunch

Vegan

The Grange

Located on Broadway in Federal Hill, the Grange is an all vegetarian eatery! They describe themselves as casual fine dining, with a phenomenal brunch menu, and if you like their brunch, I’d recommend it for dinner too! I have to admit I might be a bit biased because I pick up shifts here on the weekends (hello side hustle), but the food here is to die for.

Regardless of if you’re feeling more breakfast or more lunch, their sweet chili cauliflower is a must have appetizer. On the breakfast side, one of my favorites is the seitan sausage tofu scramble. If you’re vegan, I’d definitely ask for the cashew nacho cheese sauce to go with that! If you’re feeling more on the lunch side, I’d recommend the general tso’s tacos or the oyster mushroom po’boy.

The Grange also has great cocktails. While they don’t have bottomless mimosas, they do have a ‘pitcher’ option where you get an entire bottle of champagne and fresh squeezed orange, apple, or grapefruit juice.

Julian’s

Julian’s is also located on Broadway in Federal Hill. They have options for vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores alike. Some of the tastiest dishes I’ve had from here are their eggs Benedict and their hash, both of which come in a variety of different ingredients and flavor profiles. I’ve tried their crimini mushroom and Boursin hash as well as the desperado Benedict, which comes with avocado and salsa!

Bottomless Mimosas

Federal Tap House

While Federal Tap House isn’t exactly Italian, it’s located in the Italian District in Providence on Atwells Ave. This is one of the few places in Providence that offers bottomless mimosas at brunch, and for only $15! When we dined here, we tried the french toast special, which was a sweet morning treat that came with fresh strawberries!

Rogue Island Kitchen

Located in the Arcade in the heart of downtown Providence, Rogue Island Kitchen is a gem for brunch. They offer bottomless mimosas and incredibly fresh dishes. I tried their huevos rojos, which was delicious and beautifully presented!

District

While I’ve never actually eaten at District, I have stopped in to check out their bloody Mary bar. If you’d chose a bloody Mary over a mimosa, this may just be your place!

Coffee

The Shop

The Shop is a hip coffee hideaway in Fox Point (located pretty close to the ever popular PVDonuts). I’ve stopped in the Shop to get some work done and enjoy their amazing honey lemonade.

Seven Stars Bakery

Seven Stars Bakery is a classic coffee shop and bakery with a huge pastry selection and standard coffee drinks (love the cappuccinos here). There are two locations, one on Broadway in Federal Hill and one on Hope street.

Small Point Cafe

Located in Downtown Providence, Small Point Cafe is a quaint little hideaway to get some work done or catch up with a friend. They do a lot of fun latte art here and have a really comfortable atmosphere. I love to stop in after shopping at the Vault, an amazing vintage store in PVD!

“Upscale”

Circe

Located in downtown Providence, Circe was a perfect place to take celebrate with Ian’s parents after he received his white coat from medical school (aka, this is a special occasion kind of place for us!) We enjoyed crisp champagne and a variety of their amazing appetizers.

Massimo

Located in the Italian District of Providence on Atwells Ave, Massimo offers a modern Italian menu. We went here for Valentines Day and enjoyed drinks and a 3-course meal. We ordered their burrata appetizer, and I had their four-cheese gnoochi while Ian had one of their ravioli dishes. We both enjoyed the food, but really enjoyed dessert (espresso covered gelato, YUM!)

For reference, both Circe and Massimo offer valet parking!

Atmosphere

Cav

Located in the Jewelry District, Ww went to Cav for our anniversary dinner, which was on a Wednesday. Cav offers half priced bottles of wine and live jazz music on Wednesday nights, it was the perfect date night atmosphere! Cav has an antique feel to it, complete with crystal light fixtures, roses, and patterned table clothes. While the food was great (bruschetta and chive dumplings were delicious from their apps selection), the atmosphere of this restaurant is what stood out that most!

India

India Restaurant, located on Hope Street, makes you feel transported! The decently sized restaurant is beautifully decorated with ornate light fixtures and Indian art work. The inside seating is quite cozy (though we’d definitely recommend having a reservation, wait times can be long!) and the menu is extensive, with something to offer for everyone. There’s outdoor seating as well, which we’ll be checking out once the weather is nicer!

Asian

Wara Wara

Wara Wara offers asian inspired small plates with lots of vegan and vegetarian options! Located in the heart of Hope St, this place is known for some pretty good ramen. When I dined here most recently, I thoroughly enjoyed their vegetable buns, edamame, and crispy cauliflower! They also had a good cocktail selection, though I don’t remember the exact name of what I had.

Veggie Fun

This place was a favorite from the moment that I discovered it (two days after my first time here, I called it in for pick-up, it’s that good!). The best part about this pan-asian cuisine? It’s is ALL VEGAN! Their hot and sour soup as well as their vegetable dumplings are great starters. For a main, their general tso’s soy protein is to DIE for! If you’re craving it around noon, they offer great lunch specials as well (tofu, broccoli, spring roll, rice, and miso soup for just $10!). Veggie Fun can be found in downtown Providence!
